ON GOING SCHEMES

Direct level monitoring by Joint Director of Health Services assisted by three Deputy Directors.
     (i) MASTER HEALTH CHECK UP CAMP
     All Investigations for Rs. 250/- as per guidelines
     (ii) V.C.T.C (Voluntary Counseling Testing Camp)
     (iii)PPTCT(Prevention of parent to child Transmission of Aids)
     (iv) Special Innovative Programme in this District
          a) Central Jail Medical camp : Inaugurated by the Collector for 2003-2004 on 10.10.04
          b) Sub Jail Medical Camp : It is conducted once in every month
          c) Maintenance of Birth Defect Register: It is maintained in every hospital
          d) Dowry related Burns Scar for Reconstructive Surgery: The register is maintained
          e) Breast Milk Bank: It is functioning in the Head Quarters Hospital.
          f) Mike announcement in Labour Ward in Govt.Headquarters Hospital,Cuddalore
               - Birth and sex of the baby is announced
          g) Clinical Society Meeting
          h) Special Family Welfare Intensive Camp.

NATIONAL PROGRAMMES

The following Target oriented National Programme are successfully implemented and provided to the Medical and Health Care Services to th e people at the district level.

(1) NATIONAL LEPROSY CONTROL PROGRAMME:

     Prevalence Rate as on 1.9.1990 : 67.7/10,000
     (On Start of MDT)
     At the time of Integration (1.8.1997) : 10.4/10,000
     Prevalence Rate as on date : 1.6/10,000
     No.of persons cured under MDT : 35880
     Under treatment : 377

(II) REVISED NATIONAL TB CONTROL PROGRAMME:

This programme started functioning during the year 1999 under the support of World Bank Aid and successfully implemented at district level. The outcome of Performance of TB Control Programme indicators is furnished hereunder
     New smear positive case detection rate : 47%
                                      Cure rate           : 89%
